The Parliament of the Canary Islands opens its doors to the exhibition Color mapping, a pictorial proposal composed of 17 works by Tenerife artist Virginia Moreno PedreiraThe exhibition is presented as a sensitive, collective portrait, where the friendship between women and the bonds that unite them in later life take center stage in the Chamber's exhibition hall.
During the opening ceremony, presided over by the First Secretary of Parliament, Mario Cabrera, the author shared the spirit that guides these pieces: an intimate look at affections and vital stages, worked with an energetic chromatism that suggests resilience, care and celebration.
A cartography of links and emotions

Far from a merely formal tour, the exhibition offers the visitor a journey through that "invisible network" of support among women: affections that accompany us in times of difficulty and joy, encoded here in compositions of serene rhythm and luminous color.
From a conceptual point of view, the pieces invite us to pause in an experience that is understood from the sensitivity, respect and maturityThe choice of vibrant tones and bold combinations articulates a visual language that acts as an emotional map, with color as a compass.
The artist and her return to the brushes
Moreno Pedreira recalled that his career was marked by work, restaurants, and travel, but also by a voluntary break dedicated to family care. That turning point led to a determined return to creation, when life offered him a new opportunity to resume his artistic side.
The result of this return materializes in canvases where the author claims to feel "lucky": color becomes autobiography, and composition, shared territory. In these 17 works, we can discern a gesture of gratitude, an intimate chronicle of friendship and the passage of time.
Inauguration and institutional support
At the opening, the First Secretary of the Chamber emphasized that the proposal encourages exploring an experience that can only be measured by time and empathy: an invitation to look calmly, to recognize the pulse of the links and the imprint of experience on the palette.
The artist herself introduced the exhibition to the audience, sharing the process behind each work and the decision to transform color into narrative. The Parliament's exhibition hall It thus becomes a meeting point for that conversation between memories, affections and pigments.
