Integrate images into Photoshop with a simple trick
The procedure for integrating images into Photoshop is quite simple, but it includes some tricks to improve the final result. In this article we explain step by step how to edit photos to integrate elements into a background photo.
- Open the image you want to use as a background.
- Previously you have to have the object to paste separated with the selection tool.
- Drag the object to the landscape image.
- Confirm the message to convert and keep the color palette.
Depending on the type of object and type of landscape, you can move the element and place it in such a way that it is well integrated. It is also possible to modify size aspects, always aiming for the image and the editing result to be perfectly aligned. To position the element correctly you may need to change its size. The shortcuts to modify the attribute:
Ctrl + T. This combination activates the free transformation tool, allowing you to modify the height and width of the image or selected element.
Play with perspectives
One of the keys when it comes to integrating images is playing with perspective and design. Integrate one element or image on top of another in Photoshop, taking into account the objects around it and the proportions. Once you've pasted the new element, you can apply the reframe tool. It is usually used to cut out what is left over from the background, both on the sides and at the top or bottom, and this way you can strengthen the image that we are looking at a photograph with few retouches. A good editing process is one in which the intervention of professionals is perceived as little as possible.
Edit the color palette and lighting
A reality that usually happens when we integrate an object into another image is that the color palette is not similar. This ends up creating inconveniences, since it is obvious that the element was not originally integrated into the photo. To work on the colors and lighting, we use a curve adjustment layer. Pay attention to not setting a layer mask, but the full layer option.
Then we will do a clipping mask on the object, and with Alt pressed we select Automatic. Choose the dark and light colors of a certain area of the image, and the tones of the new object will adapt to that proposal. In this way, the union between the new object and the color, lighting and shadow palette will have a much more closely linked relationship. In both shadows and lighting you will have to choose the darkest or darkest place on the stage, and in lighting, the lightest area or light source.

When we incorporate a new element into a photo, it is normal for it to appear completely sharp and without noise. For this reason, Photoshop includes a professional editing tool that allows generate the noise effect in the image. It always has to be in relation to the background image environment.
Working on the element to be incorporated, we open the car layer and select the Filters and Noise menu. The amount of noise that we are going to incorporate has to be in relation to the background we are using.
The noise effect works so that both the background image and the object that is integrated into Photoshop images show a specific influence on the environment.
Blur effect
El blur level, along with noise, are two very relevant effects for the edition to be perfect. Tilt blur editing is also included as a general tool, allowing you to play even more with the perspective and overall approach of the background image and embedded object. To generate the blur effect you must follow these instructions:
On the object layer, we apply Filter – Gallery of Effects Blur – Tilt Shift.
The new tool of blur selection has three stripes. In the lower one the fully focused area appears, in the intermediate one a gradient effect is applied and in the upper one everything is out of focus. Always based on the configuration we make of the tool.
