Watercolor effect for texts with Photoshop

Creative online

Days ago we taught you to change the color of text with Photoshop. Taking a step forward and looking to learn a little more about the possibilities that Photoshop offers us for texts. Today we will learn in a simple way give a watercolor effect to our texts, this effect has become very popular in recent years and in a few simple steps we can give a professional and highly visual result to our texts.

How to use the watercolor effect?

The first thing we must do is obtain a high quality image of watercolor stains, although we can also use one of ours that we scan or download one from the Internet. In my case I have decided to use this from Internet. It is important that the image we choose has good quality, so try to spend a little time selecting the image.

  • Once we have the image it is time to get down to work. First we open photoshop and we create a new file, selecting file> new or cmd + n and we choose the size we want.

New file

  • We select the text tool (T key) on the toolbar.
  • We do click on the bottom and dragThis will generate a bounding box for our text and will allow us to write in it.

Generate photoshop text

  • We write the text inside bounding box.
  • We select all the text and change the font and font size.

Font change

  • We drag the image of watercolor stains onto the canvas.

Drag image

  • We place the watercolor image layer below the text layer.

Drag layer

  • Now we move the text to the part of the stain that we like the most To use.
  • We right click on the text layer and select the option, rasterize.

Rasterize

  • We choose the tool Magic wand (W key, Wand), and we give a click above the text (it is important to have the text layer selected).

Wand

  • We give click right button above our selected text and choose the option, similar.

Watercolor Selection

  • We go to the layer of the watercolor stain and give cmd + c or to the edit tab>to copy. We give to cmd + v or to edit>catch.
  • Now a new layer will come out, this will be the layer with our watercolor text.

New Watercolor Layer

  • We erase the rest of the excess layersTo be able to use the text in an image, go to the file tab> save as> and select the extension .png, this will only leave us the font.

Save as Watercolor

  • Once we have the .png file we can drag it to any image in photoshop and decorate it with our watercolor text.

Very interesting, I love the effect even to use only text with some cool phrase and frame it on the wall, I can also use it with more textures :)
